Indo-French Sustainability Conclave 2023

Sustainable Practices by French Companies: Global and Indian Perspective) Held under the aegis of IFCCI Industries Committee

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) launched its first Sustainability Conclave in Chennai in the presence of H.E. Ms. Lise Talbot Barré, Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai, Chairperson, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board & Tmt Supriya Sahu, I.A.S., Ad. Chief Secretary to Gov. of Environment, Climate Change & Forests Department, Govt. TN.

The event was held on 25th January 2023 at The Raintree Hotel, Anna Salai, Chennai, and witnessed participation from sustainability heads, policymakers, CXOs, business leaders, and non-profit organizations with a gathering of over 70+ business leaders from top French and Indian companies.

Initiated by IFCCI’s Industries Committee, the Conclave showcased sustainable projects of top French companies in India with a focus on enhancing business-based social purpose & innovative theory of change.

Speaking on this occasion, H.E. Ms. Lise Talbot Barré, Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai said,

“the ecological transition should not only be seen as a challenge but also as a tremendous opportunity to reinvent oneself and conquer new innovative market segments. French companies in Tamil Nadu have the will and the know-how to do so. They are taking part in this innovative ecological transition in India”.

Speaking at the occasion, Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI said,

“Sustainability has emerged as a top priority and corporate leaders are considering a value-driven approach in their business strategies. It is also a key focus area for IFCCI and we are pleased to provide this unique platform for these innovative and sustainable startups to showcase their work, as well as for leaders to learn about best practices from their peers”.

The event witnessed two commendable panel discussions with leaders from top French companies showcasing their best Sustainable Initiatives in India.

IFCCI also conducted a start-up competition on the side-line of this event, in which 20 promising sustainable start-ups pitched to a pre-selected jury put in place by IFCCI. TELLUS HABITAT emerged as the winner of this prestigious contest and was awarded during the event.
