Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), under the aegis of its General Counsel & Corporate Affairs Working Club, organized an annual Meet on 20th February 2023 in New Delhi.
Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI welcomed the participants and the speakers for the session and highlighted the objective of this Working Club as it gathers the Legal Heads of French and Indian corporates and provides them with a platform to interact and discuss the best practices and recommendations for ease of doing business.

Mr. Parveen Arora, Partner, BTG Legal set the context for the discussion, mentioning the relevance of ethics and compliance and its evolution from a choice to a necessity for employees.

This was followed by the first panel discussion on Conversations around ethics and compliance culture , where Ms. Lubinisha Saha, General Counsel (India & South Asia), Airbus, Mr. Siddharth Batra, Managing Partner, Satram Dass B & Co. and Ms. Rashmi Kathpalia, Director - Legal and Compliances, Technip Energies were in conversation with Ms. Varuna Bhanrale, Counsel, Trilegal and talked about the importance of ethics and compliance culture, building blocks for a right compliance program, risks of non-compliance and the various regulations. The challenges of compliance and the risks of non-compliance were highlighted.
In addition, they also shed light on the best ways to maintain a strong ethical and compliance culture in businesses by sharing a few best practices namely ECR network, cartoon / animated strips dealing with corporate compliance, compliance risk mapping, and having separate subject matter experts and ethics point helpline. 

The second panel focused on discussion around white collar compliances where Mr. Saurabh Chaturvedi, Head – Legal, SYSTRA, and Mr. Vineet Vij, Group General Counsel (Global), Tech Mahindra were the panelists along with Mr. Ratnil Chauhan, Counsel, Khaitan & Co. moderating the discussion. Key points discussed in this session were the issues, challenges, risks involved, and the various mechanisms to ensure white-collar compliance.
