Guillaume Girard-Reydet, Managing Director of Pernod Ricard India, elected as the President of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI)
All India, September 18th, 2017: The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), announced the election of Mr. Guillaume Girard-Reydet as the President at its 40th AGM late on Friday. IFCCI is one of India’s most prominent bilateral organizations which unites over 550 leading Indian and French companies with an aim to promote the development of business relations between India and France.
Mr. Girard-Reydet’s election comes at an encouraging economic context between the two countries. With over 1000 French firms in India, France is one of India’s top economic partners with investments of close to 20 billion euros and is forecasted to invest 1 to 2 billion euros on a year on year basis.
This is an exciting time for both countries, with the planned visit of the French President, Mr. Emmanuel Macron to India later this year. The visit will mark an important milestone with the meeting of the International Solar Alliance, an area on which France plans closer cooperation with India. Some of the notable sectors where India works very closely with France are Defence & Aerospace, Renewable Energy, Transport and Space, among others.
Mr. Girard-Reydet said, “Being elected as the president of Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry is an honor and I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the outgoing President, Pierre Behnam, for his commitment towards this organization”. “During my association with IFCCI, I have witnessed some very progressive achievements and I look forward to contributing further to the bilateral business and cultural relationships between France and India”, he further added.
The election was held during IFCCI’s 40th Annual General Meeting, which was attended by H.E Mr. Alexander Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India, Mr Dider Kling, President of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and CEOs of Indo-French Groups.
Mr. Guillaume Girard-Reydet brings in three decades of rich experience which includes working closely with a diverse set of stakeholders in different geographies. He is currently the Managing Director at Pernod Ricard India, the world’s co-leader in wines and spirits. Appointed to this leadership role in August 2015, he plays a critical role in driving various strategic growth initiatives in addition to managing the overall company operations in South Asia which includes India, Gulf and Sri Lanka.
