Mr. Sumeet Anand, President, IFCCI welcomed the Honorable Minister, Shri Nitin Raut, Govt of Maharashtra; Ms. Sonia Barbry, Consul General of France to Bombay and all the distinguished participants
He opened the session by with a brief introduction of the Chamber and the member companies of the energy committee. In his opinion, France is a strong supporter of the very ambitious objectives set by the Indian government in terms of energy access to all and the development of Renewable Energy. Mr. Anand, thus stated that Maharashtra has a strong infrastructure and a great potential for development in the solar sector
Ms. Barbry acknowledged the presence of the Hon’ble Mr. Nitin Raut as well as that of Khaitan & Co and thanked them for the whitepaper. She spoke of the areas of interest this engagement will hold in hydro and solar projects. She thanked the Government of Maharashtra for providing this opportunity to French companies to express their views about some matters that are relevant for them to develop, operate and grow in India in renewable energy.
Furthermore, Mr. Neerav Nanavaty, CEO, Engie India and the spearhead of IFCCI Energy committee stated the importance of solar energy and its companies with updated plans and technical upliftment’s while making a remark on the evolving nature of the renewable industry. He believes that Maharashtra has a rich solar resource and will be of great benefit
Mr. Dibyanshu Sinha, Partner, Khaitan & Co then presented the White Paper to Hon Minister. Mr Nitin Raut while illustrating the strong infra and the potential of development Maharashtra hold in terms of solar sector. He brought in more practical approaches by highlighting the efficiency in the power energy
We then had the interactive round with the member companies from the energy committee where they discussed the policies and management of solar, nuclear and wind energy. Seeking support from the state government, speaking of investment opportunities and most importantly contributing to the development of the solar energy sector
Hon'ble Minister then took over the panel and thanked all the dignitaries and participants. He put forth his ideas and explained the working strategy as Maharashtra is one of the finest states in wind and solar energy. He spoke of the digital platforms of payments, renewable modules and solar generators which brought in a lot of transformation in the last few years.
He thanked IFCCI for sharing this platform and all the distinguished participants for their participation
