IFCCI CSR Conclave & Awards 2024 featured insightful panel discussions and brought together stakeholders from the CSR Community.
The CEO panel Discussion on Redefining Success – Shifting from Output to Social Impact in CSR featured Mr. Ashwin Yardi, CEO, Capgemini Technology Services India and Mr. Raja Sivaji Ghosh, Managing Director, Sonepar India and was moderated by Ms. Amisha Shah Dhutia, Head of BNP Paribas Foundation. The discussion focused on the necessity of moving to an outcome-oriented approach in CSR. Key takeaways included the importance of long-term impact measurement over financial spend as a marker of success, case studies of successful CSR initiatives demonstrating meaningful, community-driven results and addressed the challenges in quantifying social impact and aligning CSR efforts with company business strategies.
The second panel discussion on Measuring What Matters – Creating New Metrics for Social Impact included Ms. Sapna Bhawnani, VP Communications & CSR APAC, Alstom, Mr. Deepak Manocha, Managing Director, Delfingen, Dr. Kavita Chaudhari, Deputy Director – CSR, Sanofi and Ms. Pawandeep Kaur, Director – Communications & CSR, Thales India and was moderated by Mr. Shiv Sapra, Partner at Kochhar & Co. This session emphasized the evolution of CSR metrics, particularly in a post-pandemic world. Key themes discussed were developing inclusive metrics that reflect the dignity and autonomy of communities, utilizing technology and AI to enhance impact assessments while addressing ethical challenges like data privacy and the shifts in CSR focus areas, from health and education to environmental conservation, and how metrics influence these transitions.
