The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Mumbai) organized a webinar in
association with BTG Advaya on the topic "Building Resilient Workplaces: Turning Grievance into Growth" on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.
The webinar commenced with Ms. Tracy Fernandes, Senior Manager - Events & Membership (WR), welcoming the participants and introducing the session's speakers: Mansi Singh - Partner, BTG Advaya, Rachana Thakkar - Head HR & Admin French Desk Rep, BTG Advaya, and Harinie Seenivasan - Associate, BTG Advaya.
Mansi Singh highlighted the importance of a Grievance Redressal Mechanism. She detailed employers' responsibilities, including framing policies, establishing grievance redressal committees, and educating employees about the grievance redressal procedure.
Harinie Seenivasan emphasized the necessity of an employee handbook. She explained that an employee handbook is a legal requirement that highlights the organization’s policies and defines expectations from employees. It ensures consistency in the administration of organizational policies and assists with conflict resolution. Harinie stressed that companies should regularly update their handbooks, document and track policies, and provide timely training to employees.
Rachana Thakkar then discussed the use of metrics for grievance analysis, explaining both quantitative and qualitative methods. She also addressed the role of technology in assessing grievances, noting that while AI lacks the emotional understanding needed for effective grievance resolution, human intervention is essential.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, which was well appreciated by the participants.
