The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), under the aegis of IFCCI CFO Committee, organised a breakfast CFO Committee meet at IFCCI Delhi boardroom on 15th June 2023.
Ms. Rishika Roy, Head- Committees & Partnerships, IFCCI welcomed the Chairperson Mr. Arnab Roy, CFO, Schneider Electric India and Vice Chairperson Mr. Jitesh Kakarea, CFO (Greater India Region), Moet Hennessy.
Ms Payal S.Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI shared her opening remarks with insight on the growing Indian market, the impact of ESG and sustainability in all business sectors and the increased sourcing and manufacturing effort for India to become a powerful manufacturing unit for the world.
Mr. Arnab Roy opened and shared his thoughts and vision for financial outputs with a brief presentation on sustainable and greener programs of Schneider India. He shared his ideas of climate positive world, efficient use of resources, creating equal opportunity target and local community framework, differentiating the reporting and rating of generators and consumers of green components and sustainability as a critical but so far neglected part of measuring company ESG.
This was followed by a brief presentation on industry updates by Mr Pankaj Walia, Partner, Mazars. They key focus areas were green financing estimates, global challenges and efforts led by India with the upcoming G20 meetings. Idea towards greener supply with scope emission and how RBI as a regulatory body is adapting new frameworks on acceptance of Green Deposits.
Mr. Raghav Handa, Director, Strategic Business Development, Sustainability & Govt. Affairs - Office of HSBC India CEO, discussed his views on Sustainable Finance, Greening of Supply Chains and Scope Emissions. His key focus drew attention towards achieving scope -3 goals by anchor companies and later supporting & allocating funds to the SMEs. Development of “external ESG” metrics that relate company operations to community well-being and to employ the data in a transparent and accountable manner.
The interactive session with the attendees, brought together seasoned practitioners and CFOs in the space of finance to discuss and deliberate on current practices, challenges and opportunities related to overall goal of obtaining ESG and Sustainability as a part of company’s growth.
Ms. Rishika Roy thanked the committee members for joining the meeting and sharing their suggestions. She also acknowledged the support of the Annual Patrons of IFCCI’s CFO Committee, Mazars and HSBC.
