IFCCI CEO Committee Meeting 2024
IFCCI successfully concluded the IFCCI CEO Committee Meeting on 18th April 2024, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi
The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) successfully concluded the IFCCI CEO Committee Meeting on 18th April 2024, at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, which served as a precursor to the Indo-French Business Awards 2024 and a platform to discuss India’s booming Aviation sector and the Business Outlook for 2024-25.
Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) and Mr. Benoit RENARD, Vice President, IFCCI North & Managing Director, Air Liquide India, while welcoming the members and setting the stage for discussion, highlighted the importance and transformative impact of such meetings.
Mr. Pieter Elbers, CEO, IndiGo (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd) presented a remarkable ascent of IndiGo Airlines, which is now positioned as the world's third-largest airline by market capitalization witnessing a remarkable pace of inducting one aircraft every six days.
Mr. Elbers then delved into the vast potential of India's aviation sector and attributed this to India's flourishing economy, expansion of indigenous airlines, technological advancements like Digi Yatra, surging number of air travelers, demographic advantages, improved infrastructure, and strategic geographical positioning of the country.
Following this, Mr. Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo engaged in a dynamic Fireside Conversation with Mr. Ashish Saraf, VP & Country Director of Thales India and Chairperson of the IFCCI Aerospace & Defence Committee. They explored how IndiGo is solidifying India's position as the next aviation hub, currently operating 2,000 flights daily and serving 300,000 passengers everyday. With ambitions to doubling these figures by 2030, they delved into the essential elements driving this growth namely policies, expanding airports and routes, enhancing runways, workforce training and reaching new destinations. Mr. Elbers also expressed confidence in the potential of India's aviation industry to overcome the existing challenges.
This was followed by interaction and networking with the CEOs of several prominent French companies on key areas of sustainability, freighters, infrastructural capacity, etc.
