IFCCI Annual Union Budget Seminar 2024

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), under the aegis of its CFO committee and in collaboration with the Embassy of France in India, organized its flagship Annual Union Budget Seminar on Decoding the Union Budget 2024 on Thursday, 8th February 2024 at the Embassy of France in New Delhi.

The event opened with welcome and introductory remarks by Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI, & Mr. Rajat Roy, Chairperson, IFCCI CFO Committee and Exec Director & VP Finance, Accor Hotels India & South Asia setting the context for the Seminar. This was followed by a detailed analysis by Mr. David Karmouni, Regional Financial Counsellor, Deputy to the Head of Regional Economic Services Embassy of France, highlighting the most interesting economic policy initiatives.

The key highlights of the Union Budget 2024 were briefly presented by Mr. Gaurav Jain, Partner-Tax, Mazars before the panel discussion.

A distinguished panel discussion was moderated by Mr. Himanshu S. Sinha, Partner-Tax at Trilegal. The panelists included esteemed industry figures, Mr. Akhil Puri, Partner at Mazars, Mr. Ashish Tiwari, Transport Corporation of India Ltd; and Mr. Rajat Roy, Exec Director & VP Finance at Accor Hotels India & South Asia. Together, they engaged in a comprehensive analysis covering various facets such as budget proposals, developments in direct and indirect tax schemes in their respective sectors, the impact on investments, and the burgeoning emphasis on green growth, sustainable development, energy transition, logistics, and GST provisions. The session concluded with an interactive exchange with questions by participants, Concluded by, Mr. Devesh Singhania, Vice Chairperson of the IFCCI CFO Committee and CFO of India Region & APAC Industry Controller at Socomec India.
