New Delhi: PwC Knowledge Session on GST

IFCCI in collaboration with PWC organized a knowledge session on “GST in India - The Past, Present and Future” on Friday, 24 August at IFCCI Boardroom, Delhi.

The workshop commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Rishika Roy from IFCCI. Following the welcome address, Ms. Anita Rastogi, Partner in Direct Tax in PWC delivered the keynote address.

The session was attended by the representatives from the companies like: Ashoka Construction, Socomec, Soufflet Malt India Pvt Ltd., Airliquide India Holdings, Boortmalt India Holdings Pvt. Ltd., Bharti Axa Gen. Insurance and Schneider Electric.

The talk took off with a discussion of experience on the journey of GST so far from the perspective of Government and Industry.Following this,Ms.Anita also evoked the current challenges faced by companies after changes brought by GST such as E-way bills, anti-profiteering, GST returns, refunds, etc.

Subsequently, there was a tête-à-tête on the future opportunities for the Industry and the future expectations from the Government.

While the discussion was relevant for most of the sectors, it mainly focused on the companies from the following sectors: Logistics and Maritime, Energy & Utilities, IT, Telecom & Outsourcing, Industries (such as Chemicals, Iron & Steel sector), Aerospace & Defence, Retail, Healthcare, and Hospitality & Tourism.

The forum ended with an interactive Q&A session.
