New Delhi : A Social Business Dinner In Honour Of Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus

IFCCI in partnership with the Embassy of France in India organised a Social Business Dinner in honour of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Chairman, Yunus Centre & Founder of Grameen Bank, where he addressed more than 80 CEOs of leading French firms at the Residence of France. The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Prof. Yunus in 2006.

Speaking on at the event, Prof. Yunus said "The social business model believes that every individual has the potential to adapt to the concept of  entrepreneurship and the potential to germinate something unique using his/her creativity. The Social business concept can magnificently change the world and abolish poverty. France has been extremely supportive and encouraging in flourishing this noble cause."

The event, supported by Yunus Social Business IndiaHEC Paris and Ashoka University, provided a platform to CEOs of leading French companies in India to understand social business and how companies can develop new business models using this concept. France’s premier business school, HEC Paris has been leading this concept through teaching and research with its HEC Chair on Social business as well as with an Action Tank, supported by leading French companies such as Danone, Renault, Schneider Electric, Veolia and others.

France is amongst the pioneers in this field and is making significant efforts in adapting the social business ecosystem. Last year, Professor Yunus met and had a discussion with President Emmanuel Macron of France and Mayor Ann Hidalgo of Paris on three zero goals: zero poverty, zero unemployment and zero net carbon emission, which he believes can to be achieved through Social Business with the power of youth and technology.
