Mumbai: HR Committee 3rd Meeting

The key points discussed at the meeting were as follows: 
1. Seema Ahluwalia- Chairman and Ankita Gupta- Vice Chairman welcomed the members, thanked them for their participation and briefed about the activities of the committee till date
2. Mr. Anshul Prakash, Partner – Khaitan & Co. gave a session on “Employee Termination: Statutory & Strategic Perspective”. It was a very informative and engaging session that was followed by lot of interaction (Q & A)
3. We also had a very informative session on “Wellness and Work life balance”. Roshni Wadhwa (L’Oréal), Rachna Mukherjee (Schneider Electric), Anuja Ghosh (India Ratings & Research), Radhika Maheshwari (Evolis) & Farhan Shahid (Sodexo) shared some best practices that their companies have adopted. Ideas that came up were related to flexible working hours, work from home, option of a sabbatical of 6 months – 1 year after completing 5 years of service, Day care policy, Wellbeing Lab (photography, gardening…), Gender bias, Inclusivity etc. Roshni Wadhwa has offered to send out a template to all members to share their policies related to employee wellness and wellbeing so as to create a common platform for sharing ideas
4. Shilpa Patil from Business France (Embassy of France in India) introduced the V.I.E program that enables French companies in India to recruit young French graduates
5. This was followed by a joint session with the IFCCI Higher Education Committee members. Maud le Bars from Rennes Business School and Sophie Collet from Sciences Po made a presentation on the attractiveness of France as higher education destination, advantages of hiring Alumni from French business & engineering institutes, activities of the Higher Education committee and opportunities to partner with the HR Committee in future. There was also some Q & A on scholarship options for students
6. Sapna Verma (IFCCI) discussed about the upcoming event i.e. Bonjour Talents scheduled for 7th December at Sofitel Hotel, Mumbai (IFCCI’s Career & Networking Event). More details on this event to follow. 
 
 We ended the meeting with a brief networking session which was sponsored by Khaitan & Co. and Moet Hennessy. We thank them for the same.
