The Food & Agri Club of Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organized its first Session on the New Developments in International Standards and Regulatory Landscape affecting the Food, Beverages and Feed sector, on 20th September 2023.
Ms. Rishika Roy, Head – Committees & Partnerships, IFCCI welcomed the participants and the new Leadership of the Committee - Chairperson, Mr. Vignesh Janakiraman, Country Head - India, TIMAC Agro India Pvt Ltd and Vice Chairperson, Mr. Govind Suryawanshi, Director - Corporate Affairs, Royal Canin India. She also introduced the expert Speaker for the Session - Mr. Kaushik Sengupta, Head - Food Business, Bureau Veritas.
Mr. Vignesh Janakiraman, Country Head - India, TIMAC Agro India Pvt Ltd, and Chairperson, IFCCI Food & Agri Club, briefed members on the idea behind setting up the Food & Agri Working Club and the aim to discuss the various synergies between French and Indian businesses in the Food and Agribusiness sector.
Mr. Kaushik Sengupta, Head-Food Business at Bureau Veritas, presented the evolving standards for the food and feed industry and its regulatory framework. He also shared his insights on risk assessment and Integrated Management System for the food industry in India, France, USA and UK. This was followed by a roundtable interaction with members who shared their views on the subject.
Mr. Govind Suryawanshi, Director - Corporate Affairs, Royal Canin India and Vice-Chairperson, IFCCI Food & Agri Club summarized the key takeaways from the Presentation and emphasized on the importance of how the IMS can improve the future readiness for businesses.
