100 Years Of World War 1: India Marks Armistice Day In France

100 years of WW I

World leaders gathered in Paris lead global commemorations to mark 100 years since the end of World War I at a time of growing nationalism and diplomatic tensions.

Around 70 leaders including US and Russian Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin will mark the centenary of the 1918 Armistice in the French capital.

India remembers WW I

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, on a three-day visit to Paris, represented India at the Armistice of World War I centenary commemoration.

He inaugurated the first India-bulit war memorial in northern France to pay tribute to thousands of Indian soldiers who fought selflessly and made supreme sacrifices during the World War I.
