Webinar : Virtual Meeting with the Officials from the Government of Rajasthan
The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a meeting with the Officials from the Govt of Rajasthan on 12th June 2020

Mr. Sumeet Anand, President, IFCCI and Founder & CEO, Indsight initiated the meeting with a welcome address to all the dignitaries which was followed by a brief introduction of the Chamber marking it to be one of the most active bilateral chambers of commerce. Highlighting its strategic partnership with France which is a hub for business and investments
Mr. Anand also spoke of the French economy, being the 2nd largest in the European Union and the French presence in India which is strongly backed by successful companies as the industrial powerhouse. IFCCI and its corporate relations closely coordinate with the French Embassy in India, the Consulates and the Economic Affairs strengthening diplomatic relations
Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI addressing in her keynote speech, acknowledged the efforts of the Officials of the Govt of Rajasthan and briefed them about the Conclaves of Nagpur and Goa which brought in huge success for business and investment in the past. It engaged the presence of government officials, ministers of the state and the Union as well.
Moreover, she explained that a Conclave is quite impactful in terms of investment and MOU’s which also welcomes a lot of potential investors. Finally, Ms. Kanwar proposed the idea of a digital conclave to promote Indo-French relations in Rajasthan
Mr. Patrick Pillion, Financial Counsellor from the Embassy of France in India shared an overview of the French investments in India. He mentioned that as per RBI, France is the 6th largest foreign investor and thus its shared valuable economic relations with India.
We then had Mr. Muktanand Agrawal, Commissioner of Industries and Investments, Govt of Rajasthan who illustrated on the incentives offered by the government. He stated that the BIP plays a vital role in developing industrial relations.
Mr. A. T. Pednekar, Managing Director, RIICO spoke of the Industrial infrastructure in Rajasthan. Rajasthan being the largest state in India, has excellent locations for manufacturing units, helps MSME’s establishments and generates employment subsidy. Thus, French establishment in Rajasthan will be highly beneficial.
Mr. Subodh Agrawal, Chief Secretary, Govt of Rajasthan highlighted the investment opportunities for the French investors. In the sectors of mining – marbles, stones, granites also petrochemical, food processing which now has organic cultivation and solar energy, he sees huge potential for investment and business. On concluding lines, he thanked IFCCI for this fruitful interaction.
Lastly, a few French organizations like Atstom Group, Credit Agricole, Saint Gobain India Pvt Ltd, Technique Solaire India, Thales India were a part of this meeting and a round of interaction was held between the participants and the Officials of the state of Rajasthan.
Ms. Payal S. Kanwar then shared the closing remarks by expressing her gratitude to the Officials of the Govt of Rajasthan and the participants for their kind support and participation.
