IFCCI Session on Indo-French Tax Treaty
IFCCI organised a virtual Session on Indo-French Tax Treaty, on 31st October 2023.
Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organised a Session on Indo-French Tax Treaty, on 31st October 2023. The Session was led by RKCA & Co. LLP.
Ms. Rishika Roy, Head - Committees & Partnerships, IFCCI welcomed the participants and introduced the speakers for the session; Mr. Rahul Kapoor, Managing Partner, RKCA & Co. LLP, Ms. Kiran Bala, Senior Manager, International Tax, RKCA & Co. LLP and Ms. Deveeka Sharma, Manager - International Tax, RKCA & Co. LLP.
Mr. Rahul Kapoor talked about the different aspects of Tax Treaty, including the Permanent Establishment (PE), concept of Business Connection (under section-9 of the Income Tax Act), taxation of dividend income, tax credit availment, interplay between tax treaty & income tax act and expat taxation.
Ms. Kiran Bala briefed the participants about the royalty & fee for technical services and the tax credit limit. Ms. Deveeka Sharma spoke about the capital gains, covering the shares of the movable and immovable property.
This was followed by a highly engaging Q&A session with members.
