The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mumbai in association with with Nexdigm organised an insightful webinar on “Decoding The Union Budget 2024 - 25” on Wednesday, 24th July 2024.
Ms. Shweta Pahuja Regional Director, Western Region, IFCCI commenced the session by welcoming the participants, setting the context and introducing the speakers.
Mr.Nishit Parikh, Partner, Direct Taxation, Sudit K. Parekh & Co. LLP covered various aspects of Direct Taxation based on newly announced Union Budget of India. His analysis of the budget highlighted the differences in policies of direct taxation such as personal and corporate tax, non - resident tax and capital gains tax under the old and new tax regimes. He also outlined best practices to streamline business investments under the new tax provisions introduced by the government.
Mr. Sanjay Chhabria, Senior Director, Indirect Tax, Nexdigm discussed the latest developments in Goods & Service Tax mandates and Custom duty policies. He also shared insights on the revised GST rates for food products, chemicals, renewable energy, IT, electronics and many more, comparing them with the previous year’s budget.
Overall, the webinar provided valuable insights into the changes in the tax structure and polices for both Direct and Indirect Taxes. The session also covered the future growth trajectory which will contribute to building a developed economy for the nation. The webinar was well received by the participants and concluded with an engaging Q&A session.
