The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in association with UJA Global Advisory organized a Hybrid Session on ' Income Tax Amendments, DTAA & GST on Expatriate Services ' on 15th March 2024.
Ms. Rucha Awati, Manager – Membership & Events at IFCCI Pune welcomed the participants and set the tone for the session.
Ms. Neha Raheja, Partner, UJA introduced the topic and led the session with her presentation clarifying and simplifying the key pointers below:
1. If taxpayers choose to avail the benefits of the DTAA, it becomes imperative to file form 10F online
2. Taxpayers have to file their return of income if they opt for the beneficial provisions of the DTAA
3. Taxpayers should obtain the PAN initially at the time of filing Form 10F itself
4. GST on reimbursements of secondment of expatriates is a contentious issue. The facts of the case need to be analyzed before applying GST on such reimbursements. Instructions are also issued by the CBIC in this regard.
This was followed by a fireside chat with Mr. Yannick Pouplard, Managing Director, Lohr India Automotive, where he shared best practices and his experience of doing business in India.
This hybrid session ended with an engaging Q/A and networking hi-tea.
Ms. Rucha while concluding the session, thanked Ms. Neha & Mr. Yannick for a remarkably interesting Session.
We express our sincere gratitude to UJA Global Advisory for their hospitality.
