On October 9, 2024, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), through its Food and Agri Committee, hosted a roundtable meeting with Shri G. Kamala Vardhana Rao, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) at the FSSAI Headquarters, FDA Bhawan, New Delhi. This session facilitated meaningful discussions between key members of the Indo-French business community and FSSAI representatives.
At this meeting, IFCCI was represented by Mr. Priyank Prakash, Senior Manager - Advocacy & Content, and Ms. Aarushi Gautam, Manager - Committees and Events and SPOC of the Food & Agri Committee.
The program commenced with a warm welcome and setting of the context by IFCCI, followed by introductory remarks from Mr. Vignesh Janakiraman, Chairperson of the IFCCI Food & Agri Committee and Country Director of TIMAC Agro.
An engaging interactive session highlighted key industry topics, regulatory concerns, and collaborative opportunities to enhance food safety and innovation in India. Member companies expressed their gratitude to FSSAI for recent amendments and discussed challenges related to current FSSAI regulations across various sub-sectors.
To conclude the meeting, Mr. Rao shared his insights, underscoring the importance of collaboration between regulatory authorities and industry stakeholders in maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
Mr. Priyank Prakash concluded the event with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude for the contributions and insights shared by all participants and thanking FSSAI for hosting the meeting following its inception some time ago. The meeting was well received by attendees.
