IFCCI HR and CSR Committees jointly organized a hybrid Session on “Strengthening Employee Engagement through CSR” on 30th January 2023.

Ms. Rishika Roy, Head-Committees & Partnerships, IFCCI and Ms. Namrata Vyas, Sr. Manager, HR & Recruitment Services, IFCCI opened the Session and welcomed the participants.

Ms. Shalini Nair Kumar, Head-P&C, India and APAC, Amadeus Software Labs India Pvt. Ltd. & Vice Chairperson, IFCCI HR Committee, welcomed the Speakers and appreciated the collaboration between the CSR and HR committees for a discussion on a topic very relevant in current times as the youth is sensitive towards the society and consider being a part of CSR activities as an important factor in their job role.

Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramanathan, Head CSR, Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India & Vice Chairperson, IFCCI CSR Committee was in conversation with Mr. Anurag Pratap, CSR Leader, Capgemini India & Chairperson, IFCCI CSR Committee and Mr. Nasir Shaikh, Head-HR, India, Atos Global IT Solutions and Services & Vice Chairperson, IFCCI HR Committee wherein they enlightened the participants about some of the best practices and volunteering programs undertaken by their organisations to create opportunities for their employees which enables them to contribute their personal skills, time and efforts towards a social cause and community development.

Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramanathan talked about the significant trend of a shift from CSR to ESG and elaborated on Renault's policy of encouraging employees and their families to participate in CSR activities of the company by providing paid leave for CSR activities as well as rewards and recognition programs.

Mr. Anurag Pratap shared some of the CSR initiatives undertaken by Capgemini and highlighted that the involvement of leadership in such outreach activities is a motivating factor for the employees to enhance their participation. He shared about Capgemini’s employee-run-charity, known as "We Care", which was founded in 2004 and is a digital marketplace for the employees to find various volunteering opportunities. He also mentioned that the culture of giving in India should be strengthened and that Capgemini also hosts annual awards to inspire its employees.

Mr. Nasir Shaikh spoke about his experience in volunteering in social services and behavioral sciences and described how Atos reaches out to the needy and identifies their projects based on their survey. He talked about the initiatives of Atos with Tata Memorial and highlighted that they decide on short-term projects from the perspective of employee engagement and employees’ commitments.  

This was followed by an open house discussion with other CSR Heads, HR Heads and NGOs sharing their thoughts on the subject.

Mr. Laurent Ladroyes, Personnel Director, Michelin India concluded the session thanking the Speakers for their insightful discussion and shared his thoughts on the importance of bridging the CSR initiative and employee engagement.
