IFCCI in association with Factum Legal organized a Webinar on “Webinar on 'An exit route & Closure of Companies in India with Factum Legal” on Thursday, 5th August 2021.
The event commenced with Welcome remarks by Ms. Rishika Roy, Head- Committees & Events (North) followed by introduction of the panelists for the event - Mr. Arun Gupta, Managing Partner, Factum Legal, Mr. Jagdish Baheti, CFO, Delfingen India and Mr. Jean Marie Tocchio, Partner, Bignon Lebray.
Mr. Arun Gupta gave a detailed presentation on need and benefits of closure of companies followed by the closure options that can be undertaken by the companies like- Voluntary Liquidation under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code 2016, Strike off under Companies Act 2013, Summary Procedure of winding up under Companies Act 2013 etc.
Further, during the fireside chat, moderated by Mr. Arun Gupta, Mr. Jean Marie gave his insights and discussed issues like Effective option before closure and liquidation of company while and Mr. Jagdish highlighted internal or external restructuring and practical examples. Topics like - Parallels between French & Indian laws for closure and liquidation, tax issues, remittances for shareholders and the company, dividend distribution tax amendment, outlook of foreign companies regarding their business activities in India were also discussed. Government policies to avoid closure of companies were also highlighted by Mr. Jagdish.
The Fireside chat was followed by an Interactive Q&A and Vote of Thanks.
