Chennai : Session On Fraud Risk Management

The Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) in association with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, conducted a seminar on Fraud Risk Management on the 25th of February 2020 at Hotel Raintree St.Marys, Chennai. Mr Arjun Rajgopalan, Partner, Forensic, Financial advisory, Deloitte India was our keynote speaker for the day.

The Indo French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) in association with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, conducted a seminar on Fraud Risk Management on the 25th of February 2020 at Hotel Raintree St.Marys, Chennai. Mr Arjun Rajgopalan, Partner, Forensic, Financial advisory, Deloitte India was our keynote speaker for the day.

The session was commenced with the opening remarks, followed by welcoming the participants by Mr Yohann Samuel, Regional Director – South,  IFCCI.

Our speaker for the day Mr. Arjun Rajagopalan addressed the gathering and spoke about Fraud landscape in India including technological interventions and its impact on organizations and explained in detail the following

The key areas covered were

  1. Introduction to the fraud landscape in India, root cause for fraud in India, fraud losses and areas of concern, Types of fraud that organizations experience.
  1. Prevalent anti-fraud measures adopted by organisations, common methods of Fraud detection in organizations, Initiatives taken towards tackling fraud by Corporate India, building blocks to create ethical culture, leveraging technology to fight fraud.
  1. A view on what regulators are looking for from fraud risk management programs, methods of fraud detection, embedding a forensic DNA across the three line of defence.
  1. Upcoming developments and their impact on fraud risk management, including technological interventions, Compliance and regulatory requirements, key requirements for compliance, cost of non-compliance and fines

 

Subsequently followed by an engaging Q&A session with the speaker and the Deloitte team.

The vote of thanks was delivered by IFCCI, wherein IFCCI Chennai’s future events were briefed to the 28 companies present, and our knowledge partner Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP, was thanked. The session was concluded after a networking session with the delegates.
