The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in collaboration with CMS INDUSLAW, successfully hosted an insightful webinar titled ‘Privacy in Practice – Navigating the DPDP Act Implementation’ on 11th July 2025.
With the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 ushering in a transformative era in India’s data protection landscape, the session focused on providing businesses with practical guidance on navigating the Act’s compliance requirements.
Ms. Aarushi Gautam, Senior Manager – Committees & Events (North), IFCCI, opened the session by highlighting the critical role of data protection in fostering responsible and future-ready business practices.
The keynote presentation was delivered by Ms. Shreya Suri, Partner at CMS IndusLaw, who shared in-depth insights into the implementation of the DPDP Act and its real-world implications for organizations operating in India. She addressed the core requirements of the Act and the accompanying draft Rules, the strategic and operational impact on businesses, and the protocols for managing data breaches. Ms. Suri also touched upon sector-specific implementation challenges, outlined legal and technical compliance checklists, and discussed early steps that organizations can take to mitigate risks and ensure readiness.
The webinar concluded with an engaging Q&A session, encouraging interactive dialogue and deeper understanding among participants.
