IFCCI Food & Agri Working Club Launch Meet

In view of the immense opportunities and potential for French and Indian companies to collaborate in the Food and Agribusiness space, IFCCI launched its Food & Agri Working Club on 17th July 2023 in Mumbai. IFCCI will work closely with the Embassy of France for this initiative. 

Ms. Shweta Pahuja, Regional Director (West), IFCCI in her opening remarks, shared the intention behind launching this club which is to foster synergies between Indian and French companies in this vast domain as well as to put forth the industry issues to the relevant government authorities.

Ms. Rishika Roy, Head – Committees & Partnerships, IFCCI while introducing IFCCI Committees, welcomed the members alongwith the Chairperson of IFCCI Food and Agri Club, Mr. Vignesh Janakiraman, Director, TIMAC AGRO India and Vice-Chairperson of the Club, Mr. Govind Suryawanshi, Director - Corporate Affairs, Royal Canin. 

Mr. Vignesh Janakiraman, Director, TIMAC AGRO India, talked about the onset of the Food and Agri club initiative of the Chamber and emphasised on the importance of sharing the best practices as well as the issues and trade barriers faced by the members via this club.

This was followed by an Open House Session with members wherein they introduced themselves, shared their views on this dynamic sector and expectations from the Club and also offered support in the upcoming initiatives.

While concluding the session, Mr. Govind Suryawanshi, Director - Corporate Affairs, Royal Canin, highlighted the key points discussed during the Meeting emphasizing on charting a plan of activities for the next 6 months, which would be based on the feedback received by members via a survey that was circulated to members.

Some of the upcoming engagements under consideration are the French Pavilion at AAHAR Trade Fair early next year New Delhi (alongwith Business France) and participation at World Food India 2023, being organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India in Nov 2023.

The event was attended by CXOs and senior leaders from Food and Agri sector of French and Indian companies namely Servier India, Louis Dreyfus, L'Opera, FIL Industries, Yasham Speciality Chemicals, Seahorse Ship Agencies, to name a few, and was moderated by Ms. Aarushi Gautam, Manager – Committees and Events, IFCCI.
