IFCCI under the aegis of the Industries Committee and in association with Roedl & Partner India organized an interactive discussion on Managing Manufacturing in a time of crisis with an insight on the scheme "Custom Bonded Warehousing" launched by the Govt of India for manufacturing companies based out of India.
Ms Sonia Barbry, Consul General, Consulate of France in Mumbai, delivered the opening remarks and spoke about how IFCCI as a chamber is operating and the initiatives being taken. She also highlighted how India and France share a close bond and the strong economic and financial presence of French companies in Maharashtra.
Mr Anand Khetan, Partner , Roedl & Partner India, introduced the participants to the scheme of “Custom Bonded Warehousing” where companies may import capital goods required for manufacturing operations without payment of import duties and use it in its factory/premises. He also explained the various advantages available for manufacturers under this scheme in detail.
Mr Venugopal Reddy, Principal Secretary, Mining & Industries, Govt. of Maharashtra addressed various aspects about the ongoing crisis and mentioned the steps government is taking to come out of this situation. He also mentioned various measures taken to support the businesses. This was followed by an interactive Q&A.
Ms Payal S. Kanwar, IFCCI Director-General, delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated the Principal Secretary and the government for all the efforts and constant support extended to the industry during this time of crisis.
