The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organized a Session on Navigating Indian Markets - A Competition Law Perspective on 27th April 2023, covering the basics of competition law, the function of the Competition Commission of India and giving a macro perspective on building a legal strategy for navigating the Indian market under the competition law in association with Knowledge Partner firm Dua Associates.

Ms. Rishika Roy, Head - Committees & Partnership, IFCCI welcomed the members and the speaker for the session Mr. Gautam Shahi, Partner, Competition & Anti-Trust Law; Policy, Dua Associates. Mr. Gautam Shahi, in his comprehensive presentation, presented an overview of the Competition Law and elaborated on the regulations, agreements, prohibitions, evidence, conduct and performance as per the Competition Law. He also outlined the function of the Competition Commission of India and highlighted the latest amendments in the law. He later shared a few case studies such as the Fuel Surcharge case (2013), the Maruti Suzuki Case (2021), and the Auto Parts Case (2014).

This was followed by an engaging interactive session with questions pertaining to the key regulatory challenges for foreign companies in India, rigging agreements, thresholds in the law, etc.

The Session witnessed participation from members representing Air Liquide, ARaymond, M&V Altios, Servier, Idemia, Socomec, to name a few.

The session was moderated by Mr. Akshay Thakur, Assistant - Events & Memberships, IFCCI.
