Minister Franck Riester presented the Indo-French Business Awards 2022 in Delhi
On March 10, 2022, the Franco-Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI) organized the 4th edition of its flagship event, the Indo-French Business Awards (IFBA), in the presence of Franck Riester, Minister of Foreign Trade and of Economic Attractiveness, with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and under the patronage of the French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain. The Minister and the Ambassador also presented the VIE South Asia 2022 Grand Prix during the evening.
The award ceremony brought together, during an official business dinner, business leaders from the most important French companies in India present in the sectors of aerospace, defence, mobility, energy and consumer goods.
I was happy to present the Indo-French Business Awards 2022 and impressed by the dynamism of the Indo-French business community. Thanks to their world-class know-how and their long-term commitment to India, French companies are perfectly positioned to support India in its urban, ecological and digital transitions.

The Indo-French Business Awards (IFBA) 2022
More than 100 applications were received from India and France for the Indo-French Business Awards 2022. The jury was made up of French-Indian business leaders selected by the French Embassy in India and the Conseil d' IFCCI administration including CEOs from various industries.

We are delighted to organize the fourth edition of the IFBA as part of the 45th year of the IFCCI, where we honor and congratulate those who contribute massively to Franco-Indian trade and affairs. The IFCCI has an ambitious plan for 2022 and we will soon open an office in France to build a strong two-way corridor.

French companies in India
Despite the challenges posed by multiple waves of Covid and fluctuating industrial trends, Indo-French trade reached $10.75 billion in 2020 and $8.85 billion in 2021. French companies based in India have made evidence of strong business resilience after the Covid-19 crisis. Witness to this resilience: the maximum number of applications received was for the category of the best French group and the most innovative product/service.
This edition of the IFBA in the presence of the Minister reaffirms France's commitment to the overall Franco-Indian strategic partnership, within which the economic relationship is now central and is of growing importance, based on a solid foundation of trust and of mutual admiration.

With more than 1,000 French establishments already present in India (ranging from multinationals to SMEs), France made a cumulative investment of $9.86 billion between April 2000 and June 2021, i.e. 1.80% of total investment flows. FDI in India. 39 of the largest French companies listed on the Euronext Paris stock exchange (the CAC 40) have activities in India and French companies established in India employ more than 300,000 people. Similarly, there are approximately 200 subsidiaries of Indian companies established in France which employ more than 6,000 people.
France is one of India's main scientific partners, with more than 25 French R&D centers, 15 Indo-French joint research laboratories and 500 collaborative projects in the country. It is also partnering with India to develop Chandigarh, Puducherry and Nagpur as smart cities, with a commitment of over $2.2 billion for this project.
India and France are also cooperating in the field of renewable energy with a view to developing technological know-how and thus contributing to the achievement of the ambitious target of 450 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030.
France has also become India's trusted partner in defense and strategy.
The fields of defense and security, civil nuclear cooperation and trade and investment constitute the main pillars of the Indo-French strategic partnership. French companies are increasingly investing in India in several sectors of technology, industry and services, as well as in agribusiness, as India has shown its resilience and resurgence through the global pandemic. . More and more Indian investors are choosing to cross the Channel and make France their base for better access to the EU market.

The CEO Committee of the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce (IFCCI)
The IFCCI also launched the IFCCI CEO Committee on the same day with the aim of building a platform to promote sustainable and development-based relationships in India. The IFCCI CEO delegation includes more than 80 CEOs from across India representing top French-Indian companies. The platform aims to share knowledge, leadership and a structured approach to strengthen Indo-French trade corridors.
Minister Frank Riester discussed opportunities for growth and collaboration between the two countries with the business leaders present.
The VIE South Asia Grand Prix 2022
On the occasion of the Indo-French Business awards, Minister Franck Riester and Ambassador Emmanuel Lenain also awarded the VIE South Asia 2022 Grand Prix , co-organized by Business France & the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. French (IFCCI) which rewards an International Volunteer in Business (VIE) working in the sub-continent and a company hosting a VIE.
