French ambassador opens Alliance Francaise de Lucknow

Lucknow: French culture was set to blend with Lucknow's graceful Nawabi "tehzeeb" with the inauguration of Alliance Française de Lucknow by Alexandre Ziegler, ambassador of France to India, at the Stobart Hall of La Martinière College on Sunday.

"Lucknow will give excellent students to Alliance Française. The journey of creativity and learning begins in this amazing and beautiful premises of La Martinière College. Soon, the Bonjour programme will be conducted, involving a series of activities like art exhibitions, music shows, and literary events," said French ambassador Ziegler.

The ambassador also conferred a French government distinction, a medal of honour for distinguished service, to chief conservator Ansar-ud-Din for the restoration of Constantia - the palatial building that houses La Martiniere College."I feel honoured to get this medal, my aim is to restore Constantia completely and that will take a little more time," said Ansar-ud-Din.
