India will very soon become the world's most populous country, if it isn't already. It is a larger market than the USA or the EU for many products, such as smartphones, and its GDP (in PPP terms) is expected to overtake that of the USA in about 16 years. However, the country was hit hard by the pandemic over the past 18 months, and only 20% of the population has been fully vaccinated. Given the long term prospects of India, and the immediate challenges it faces due to the pandemic, there is some debate among international observers as to whether this is the right time to invest in India.
