On the 16th of May 2024, Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) organised an impactful Industries & Energy Roundtable Meeting with Mr. Balamurugan D., Joint Secretary, DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, at DPIIT, New Delhi.
This event, part of a series organized by IFCCI Committees, aimed to foster meaningful dialogue with the Government of India to strengthen Indo-French business relations and underscored the importance of collaboration between the Indo-French business community and the Indian government to address industry concerns and explore future opportunities.
At this exclusive meeting, Mr. Balamurugan D., Joint Secretary, DPIIT, extended a warm welcome to IFCCI and its members. Ms. Payal S. Kanwar, Director General, IFCCI, thereafter set the tone and presented a recommendation document on behalf of the Industry while introducing the members.
Key Discussions:
- Industry Challenges: Members had the opportunity to present specific bottlenecks they face in India, with Mr. Balamurugan providing valuable suggestions and support.
- Government Initiatives: Mr. Balamurugan D. shared insights on several mechanisms benefiting the industry, including the Project Monitoring Group (PMG), India Investment Land Bank portal, and National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
- Economic Stability: Emphasis on India's stable economy and its ambitious targets like meeting 50% of energy needs from renewables by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
