FRRO Launches E-services. Physical Presence Of Expats No Longer Required.
E-Services have been implemented by the Bureau of Immigration (BOI) for rendering Visa related services online to all foreigners. With the implementation of ‘e-Services’, foreigners will not have to make any personal visit to the FRRO office (for example for FRRO Registration, Extension of Residence Permit after 1 year...).
The new process requires one to register online with the ‘e-Services Online Portal’ and would enable the following steps to be done online
- Fill online application
- Upload relevant documents
- Submit application
- Make payment online
Scrutiny of documents will be a crucial point and new process may be implemented soon (validation by SMS and OTP generation…etc.).
