French Band Strums City's Heart Strings
BHOPAL: Le Maestrio, an all guitarist band from France, wowed the audience with their music - an amalgamation of three different music genres using three different guitars, at Tribal Museum on Tuesday.
The audience could not help but tap their feet to their rhythm. Alliance Francaise de Bhopal, the Indo-French cultural centre and Department of Culture has invited the French band to perform in Bhopal as part of its four-month Bonjour India festival. The band has members of three schools of guitar - Pierre Beron plays the classical guitar, Pierre Louyriac plays the Flamenco guitar and Symon Savignoni plays the gypsey guitar.
Excited about their India fest, the band said that they were destined to meet. Bernon said, "I met Pierre at a guitar concert in France. I happened to notice his fingers and knew that he played guitar. That's how our conversation started. A few months later, we met Symon when he was looking for a bass guitarist. All these were fortunate incidents that brought us together. And here we are now, performing in India for the first time."
