Founder and Creative Director Kavita Khosa has united her passion for clean beauty, wellness and her commitment towards positive social impact through her creation of PUREARTH. A former Wall Street firm lawyer and director at Deutsche Bank, Kavita felt a deep desire to reconnect with her native land of India. She shed her corporate avatar to embark on a voyage through the high altitude Himalayas where she spent years conducting extensive research on the ecological environment, establishing partnerships with community based organizations, womens’ micro-credit and self-help groups across the Himalayan belt from Kashmir to Kumaon.
Kavita read law at the University of Pune and Hong Kong University, and holds Diplomas in Advanced Organic Cosmetic Science, Ayurveda and Vedanta. An Ayurvedic practitioner for over 20 years, Kavita is an Iyengar yoga teacher and established Sachananda Yoga Shala – a non-profit yoga school before founding PUREARTH in 2014. A lifelong member of the Federation of Women Lawyers, Hong Kong and an active women’s rights campaigner, she led the making of ‘Slave Brides’ – an award-winning television documentary on the exploitation of Indian women abroad.
Invited by Livia Firth – Founder, Eco Age – to walk the digital 2020 Green Carpet Fashion Awards, Milan Fashion Week at La Scala, Italy and featured on the cover of India Today Woman business magazine, Kavita has hosted her own TV show on Tata Sky Beauty and sits as a jury member of the Harper’s BAZAAR Conscious Beauty Awards 2019. Nominated as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the Adventist Hospital Women of Hope Foundation, Hong Kong and a “Top 50 Emerging EU India Beauty Industry Leader” by the EU ICBI in 2019, Kavita is invited to speak globally on womens’ empowerment, sustainability, Ayurveda and wellness at various forums such as at the University of Hong Kong, Arab Luxury World Conference, Himalayan Echoes Arts & Literary Festival and radio talk shows.
Kavita Khosa’s background in Ayurveda and organic skincare science, combined with an intrinsic desire for social change resulted in PUREARTH, a responsible luxury, performance driven skincare and wellness brand that supports income generation programs for resource poor women and grassroots farmers in India.
