Ganeshan is currently the Head of Corporate Coverage & Advisory in India at BNPParibas. A 25-year old veteran in investment banking, Ganeshan has served as Head of Investment Banking and has spearheaded several marquee deals for leading companies across Debt and Equity Capital Market, M&A and Leveraged finance products in onshoreand offshore markets.
He has worked on several landmark transactions with corporates such as Reliance, Tata, Bharti, AV Birla, JSW, Motherson, UPL etc. He has also played a key role in building theprivate equity franchise with relationships across large global clients like Bain capital, Advent, Carlyle, KKR, Warburg Pincus etc. He has been associated with transactions withclients raising over USD 10 billion over the last 2 years.
Some of the landmark transactions include:
- USD 3 billion Loan for Reliance Industries and Reliance Jio
- USD 1 billion Round the clock project financing for ReNew
- USD 7 billion rights offering for Reliance Industries
- USD 60 billion merger between HDFC and HDFC Bank
- USD 6.5 billion fairness opinion for Holcim
In his current role, as the Head of Corporate Coverage & Advisory, Ganeshan is responsible for coverage of Indian corporates through a full suite of solutions likelending, transaction banking, global markets, capital markets, debt markets andadvisory products. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Ganeshan was head of Investment Banking at UBSSecurities India where his key responsibilities included M&A and capital markets. Hebegan his career at DSP Merrill Lynch where he worked for 10 years under various roles.
Ganeshan holds a PGDM degree from IIM-Kolkata and BTech from IIT Varanasi.
