Dear Members,

These past weeks have been challenging for you, your families and colleagues. We know many of you have been unwell and as India battles the second COVID-19 wave, we send you our best wishes and thoughts for good health and a speedy recovery.

Under the leadership of His Excellency, Mr Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India, it has now been more than 10 days that the French Team has been working around the clock to help India during this crucial time and we feel that it is important to give you a status update.

At the request of the President of the French Republic & the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the French Team in India (Embassy of France, IFCCI, Business France and CCEF) have been working on a French Solidarity Mission to raise funds in order to purchase and install French oxygen plants in Indian hospitals. We are extremely pleased and delighted to inform you that we have raised 37.6 crores / 4.1 million euros (with more coming in) for this cause. Approximately a third of these funds have already been used for purchasing the first lot of Oxygen plants from France, which arrived last weekend and are being installed in Indian Hospitals throughout the country. The second purchase order should also be completed over the next few days.

We wish to sincerely thank all of our members for their support, without whom this mission would not be possible. Please find the list of all our contributors below. His Excellency, Mr Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India has been personally involved in this solidarity mission and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to you all.

IFCCI has set up a dedicated payment link through its NGO partner Care over the next few days, for those who wish to make an online contribution directly.

For IFCCI, the health and wellbeing of our member company employees is also of prime importance and this is why IFCCI in partnership with Business France has been working on procuring oxygen concentrators in France. We are pleased to inform you that we are purchasing approximately 900 concentrators for our members and their employees. These will arrive from France by end May.

Lastly, IFCCI is also working closely with Capgemini to develop a mobile app and website which would serve as a common resource pool for sharing information about plasma donors, oxygen cylinders and concentrators. This application will be set up for our members and used within the IFCCI network.
