APSSDC Signs Agreement With Dassault For Skill Development

Amaravati: As part of initiative to make students ‘industry ready’, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dassault Systems of France in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to provide training to one lakh students in three years starting from 2018-19.

The training programmes would enable the students to find jobs in aerospace, defence, automotive and ship building sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the training programme would help to increase the talented manpower in the State and useful in attracting investments as the investors were asking for talented workforce."Talented manpower is need of the hour in the State along with best infrastructure. The training programme will offer 85 courses with world class standards. Investors can utilise the trained people productively as it reduces their hiring and training costs,” he said.

Dassault Systems(DS) will establish an Experience Centre (EC) in 5,000 square feet space.

The DS has vast experience in offering training through designing software CATIA, manufacturing software DELMIA and Analysis software SIMULIA.

According to APSSDC MD K Sambasiva Rao, the cost of the project is Rs. 309 crores over a period of three years and AP government will provide Rs 36 crores in three instalments while the DS will invest Rs. 273 crores to establish the Experience Centre and to offer the product and service at a subsidised price for the students. Sambasiva Rao said that the EC would help to enhance the employability skills of engineering and polytechnic students by making them industry ready.
