About the event:
This webinar will provide a practical guide to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its compliance implications for organizations handling personal data in India. We will walk through the key implementation priorities, including in relation to cross-border transfers, vendor management, data principal rights, retention, breach response, and Significant Data Fiduciary obligations. The session will also address common operational questions, such as how DPDPA differs from GDPR, what existing privacy programs can be leveraged, and where businesses may need India-specific controls, contracts, notices and processes.
This webinar will explore:
- Understand when the DPDPA applies, including its extraterritorial reach and impact on foreign companies processing Indian personal data.
- Identify practical steps for implementation.
- Assess contractual and operational measures including in the context of legacy data.
