India is expected to be the 3rd largest aviation market by 2020, rising from its present 9th position with a size of around USD 16 billion. According to data released in 2016 by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Indian aviation market grew by 27.4% in 2015-16 over 2014-15 taking the total passenger through put at 184 million, making it the fastest-growing aviation market in the world. Government of India (GoI) is aggressively enabling ‘Make in India’ initiative, with focus on defense equipment and aeronautics sector occupying larger space.
The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Technology Development Board (TDB), Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India and Indo French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA) is organising a B2B Summit on 14th September 2018 at Hotel Lalit Ashok in the city of Bengaluru. The focus of the event will be Aerospace and Aviation sector. The interactive event will explore business opportunities in aerospace technologies, technology transfers and collaborative projects in India. The Indo-French collaborative projects can be funded by Bpifrance to French companies and TDB to its Indian counterparts. The TDB’s bilateral programme with Bpifrance is managed by IFCPAR/CEFIPRA.
