H.E Mr. Philippe BaptisteMinister of Higher Education, Research and Space

Philippe Baptiste holds a PhD from the Université de Technologie de Compiègne, an engineering degree from Mines Nancy, and advanced degrees from the University of Strathclyde and Sorbonne Université. He has held senior academic, scientific and corporate positions, including at CNRS, IBM, École Polytechnique, Total Group and Boston Consulting Group.

He served in senior roles within the French Ministry of Education and Research and was President of CNES, France’s space agency, from 2021. He was appointed Minister for Higher Education and Research in December 2024 and, since October 2025, has served as Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space.
