Gagan KumarFounder at Krishnomics Legal
Gagan Kumar is a commerce graduate from Delhi University, a member of Bar Council of Delhi and a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Before setting up Krishnomics Legal, Gagan was Principal Associate with Amarchand & Mangaldas (now known as Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas). He also worked with KPMG. He brings with him over two decades of experience.
Gagan has extensive experience in litigation and advisory aspects of the tax practice. He has
successfully represented various corporates before Supreme Court, High Court, Tax Tribunals,
District Courts, National Company Law Tribunal, and various Consumer Forums. He has also
appeared before the Permanent Court of Arbitration, Hague as an expert witness.
He has been recognised as :
- One of the Tax Controversy Leader by International Tax Review, London consecutively for six years since 2013
- India’s leading Corporate tax lawyer by The International Who’s Who Legal in 2012
- Adjudged as one of the Top 10 Start ups in Legal sector by Startup City Magazine in April 2017
Gagan is Vice Chair of Delhi chapter of 'Indian Lawyers Association'. He regularly speaks at various national and international forums. He is a member of Delhi High Court Bar Association and American Bar Association. He regularly contributes articles to various national and international journals.
He has authored a book on ‘Tax Prosecutions (Under Income Tax and GST)'.
Over the years, Gagan has advised several domestic and international companies, private equity funds as well as various not for profit organisation on tax issues relating to Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, Mergers and Restructurings, Tax Prosecution, Value Added Tax, Central Excise, Custom, Service Tax, and regulatory laws like FEMA and FCRA etc.
Gagan also sits on the Board of several companies as Independent Director and is an active member of Rotary Club.
