The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in collaboration with Zinnov organized a webinar “India GCCs - Redefining the New Era of Limitless Opportunities” on 27 November, 2024.
The webinar commenced with the Welcome Remarks by Mr. Priyank Prakash, Senior Manager - Advocacy & Content, who shed light on the role of IFCCI's extensive network and set the context to the succeeding discussion.
Thereafter, the interactive session was led by Mr. Mohammed Faraz Khan, Partner at Zinnov, who heads the GCC Advisory business in the EMEA region.
The webinar featured an engaging segment of case study presentations and an overview of GCCs in India: Leading the Transformation
Few Highlights:
1. Technological Leadership: Indian GCCs are driving advancements in AI, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity. Initiatives like Shell E4 and AstraZeneca’s Idea Incubator have also demonstrated their potential to foster startup collaborations and deliver impactful solutions across Energy, Healthcare, and Semiconductor industries.
2. Geographic Spread: Bengaluru remains the epicenter, hosting 40% of all GCCs, followed by NCR at 25%. Cities like Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chennai boast around 350 centers each, further diversifying the ecosystem.
3. French Contributions: French GCCs have significantly leveraged India’s ecosystem, with a 95% ER&D footprint and a growing presence in Tier-II and Tier-III cities. Major players like Airbus, Medias Société, General Sagoba, and Michelin are leading this charge.
4. India’s GCCs are heralding a new era of innovation and global value creation. With their robust talent pool and advanced technological capabilities, GCCs have transitioned from traditional shared services to becoming strategic hubs for Global Business Services (GBS) and technology leadership.
The Road Ahead:
India’s GCC ecosystem is poised for remarkable growth, with projections of:
1. 2,000+ GCCs by 2030.
2. $100 billion+ in market size, driven by innovation and integration.
3. 2.8 million professionals employed in these centers, reinforcing India’s position as a global talent powerhouse.
The webinar provided a comprehensive exploration of the transformative role of GCCs in India, focusing on emerging opportunities and strategic developments shaping the global business landscape. The webinar featured more than 70 attendees with more than 20 questions answered through the session.
