IFCCI Energy & Utilities Committee | Members' Meet
IFCCI successfully hosted a hybrid Meeting of the IFCCI Energy & Utilities Committee attended by 30+ members representing French & Indian companies.
IFCCI successfully hosted a hybrid Meeting of the IFCCI Energy & Utilities Committee on the 11th June, attended by over 30 members representing French and Indian companies.
The session was chaired by Committee Chairperson, Mr. Federico D'Amico, CEO, EDF India and Vice Chairperson, Mr. Dhananjay kumar, Director - Corporate Affairs, ENGIE India.
The Energy & Utilities Committee meeting focused on aligning priorities for the year ahead, with members brainstorming strategic objectives such as drafting a white paper with policy recommendations, pushing for reforms in Virtual Power Plants (VPP) and renewable energy, supporting the green hydrogen policy, and strengthening Indo-French collaboration in driving India’s energy transition. The discussion also aimed to shape the proposed IFCCI Energy seminar agenda to strengthen visibility for French companies in India’s energy landscape- members shared their thoughts and suggested to organise an Industry- focussed roundtable meeting with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) in end of August.
Mr. Neeraj Menon, Partner, Trilegal, who are also the Knowledge Partner for the Committee, shared key updates on recent regulatory and policy developments across the energy sector. His insights covered a wide range of segments including virtual PPAs, the Draft Policy from Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), the National Hydrogen Mission, renewable energy initiatives, and proposed amendments related to nuclear power.
Notable French companies that participated included EDF, ENGIE, Citelum, Technique Solaire, SONEPAR, and Socomec, along with other companies’ part of the IFCCI Energy Committee and key institutional representatives such as Invest India.
