Monin

Mr. Germain Araud

Managing Director, MONIN India Pvt Ltd

1. In today’s evolving global landscape, what does being a 'future-ready organisation' mean to you, beyond technology and digital transformation?

For us, being future-ready is about adaptability, sustainability and people. Technology is an important enabler, but long-term resilience comes from understanding changing consumer behaviours, investing in local innovation, building responsible supply chains, and empowering people to create value. At MONIN, this means continuously developing products that reflect local tastes, supporting hospitality professionals through education, and embedding sustainability into the way we source, manufacture and operate.

2. At a time when geopolitical alliances are being reshaped, what, in your view, makes the India-France partnership particularly resilient and future-oriented?

India and France share a relationship built on long-term trust rather than short-term interests. Both countries value innovation, sustainability, entrepreneurship and strategic autonomy, creating a strong foundation for collaboration across industries. For French companies like MONIN, India is not only a growing market but also a hub for manufacturing, R&D and talent. This complementary relationship enables both countries to co-create solutions that can serve global markets.

3. The India-France Year of Innovation 2026 presents a significant opportunity to deepen technological and entrepreneurial collaboration. How do you see your organisation contributing to this shared innovation agenda?

Innovation at MONIN goes beyond product development—it is about creating new experiences. Through our local R&D capabilities, collaborations with chefs, bartenders and coffee professionals, and initiatives such as the MONIN Cup and Women Raise the Bar, we foster creativity and entrepreneurship within the hospitality industry. We also continue to develop flavours inspired by Indian ingredients and consumer preferences, combining French expertise with Indian innovation to create products with both local relevance and global appeal.

4. How important you think are institutions like IFCCI in strengthening trust, dialogue and long-term economic partnerships?

Institutions like IFCCI play a vital role in bringing together businesses, policymakers and entrepreneurs from both countries. They create platforms for knowledge sharing, partnerships and meaningful dialogue that help transform opportunities into long-term collaborations. Beyond facilitating business, they strengthen mutual understanding and encourage innovation, making them an important catalyst for sustainable India-France economic relations.
