Panel Discussion: The Evolution of CX with AI – Insights from Industry Leaders
Frédéric Ong, Country Manager – France, Tata Communications (Moderator)
Virginie C. Skoczen, CIO – Centre of Expertise India & Philippines, BNP Paribas
Amit Pingle, Head of Innovations – Africa, India & Middle East, Michelin India
Amol Mali, Head of Digital, Sanofi Consumer Healthcare India Limited
Pritam Mahangare, Director – Member of India Management Team, Schneider Electric India Limited
The panel brought together leaders from banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and technology to discuss how AI is reshaping customer experience, operational efficiency, and business models across industries. The discussions and Q&A session mainly revolved around:
1. Changing Customer Expectations
Across sectors, customers increasingly demand:
- Transparency in decision-making
- Personalisation based on their specific needs and behaviours
AI is enabling deeper insights by integrating data from multiple sources and creating predictive models that enhance relevance, speed, and accuracy in customer interactions.
2. Industry Perspectives
Michelin – Enhancing Customer Journeys Through Data & AI
The tire industry is leveraging AI to provide transparency around fleet health, predictive maintenance, and smarter product choices.
A key example shared was Michelin’s intuitive AI-driven tire selection feature, where customers simply upload a photo of their tire, and AI recommends the correct replacement—significantly reducing drop-offs and making online buying easier.
Sanofi Consumer Healthcare – Balancing Personalisation with Compliance
In a highly regulated environment, AI adoption focuses on:
- Personalised doctor profiling
- Predictive content delivery
- Enhancing medical detailing
However, strict guardrails around privacy, patient data, and exposure of sensitive information remain essential. The organisation is prioritising responsible use of AI while building readiness through data lakes and segmentation models.
Schneider Electric – Smart Factories & Operational Efficiency
Schneider is deeply integrating AI across supply chain, digital twins, IoT-enabled equipment, and sustainability initiatives.
Their EcoStruxure platform exemplifies how AI improves:
- Demand forecasting
- Reduction in defects
- Energy efficiencies
- Carbon emission control
Their Hyderabad factory is recognised as a World Economic Forum Lighthouse Factory for advanced AI-led manufacturing.
BNP Paribas – Deliberate, Responsible AI Adoption
While often perceived as conservative, BNP emphasised being deliberate, not slow.
Key strategies include:
- Building an internal LLM in collaboration with Mistral
- Strong focus on transforming processes rather than chasing AI “fads”
- Deep experimentation through internal labs
- Leveraging India’s talent to accelerate AI adoption
BNP promotes a “fail fast, learn fast” approach while ensuring long-term, scalable transformation.
3. ROI, Adoption & Budgeting
Speakers acknowledged that AI’s ROI is challenging to quantify upfront.
Key takeaways:
- AI projects must start with a clear problem statement
- Business teams—not just tech—must have ownership and budget responsibility
- Adoption requires addressing behavioural resistance, not just building tools
- AI success depends on “man with machine,” not replacing human intelligence
4. Future of Robotics & Workforce Disruption
Questions on robotics and job displacement sparked a strong consensus:
- AI and robotics should augment, not replace, people
- Organisations must prioritise reskilling and upskilling
- Ethical adoption will be key as automation increases
- People, Planet, and Profit remain equally important pillars
Demo Desk:
A dedicated TATA Communications Kaleyra.ai demo desk was set up at the venue to showcase its user interface and capabilities, offering participants a hands-on experience of conversational AI workflows, automation potential, and multilingual CX features.
Conclusion:
The event concluded with a networking cocktail, allowing speakers and participants to connect, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration opportunities.
We thank all the speakers and participants for making the event a success!
