Presentation of Five Letters of Intent (LOIs) between leading French companies and Regional Authorities at the Indo-French Investment Conference Northeast: Spotlight Assam

IFCCI organised an Indo-French Investment Conference Northeast on 3 Nov 2025 where 5 LoIs were signed between French companies & regional authorities

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in collaboration with the Embassy of France in India and the Government of Assam, successfully hosted the Indo-French Investment Conference Northeast: Spotlight Assam on 3rd November 2025 in Guwahati. The conference marked an important step in deepening Indo-French economic cooperation and highlighting the strategic potential of India’s Northeast region.

During the Investment conference, a key milestone was the signing and presentation of four Letters of Intent (LOIs) between leading French companies including Axens Global Engineering, Cooperl, Dassault Systèmes and Systra with the Government of Assam, and the exchange of a land-transfer agreement between POMA and the Government of Meghalaya for a ropeways project to be commissioned in 2026

These agreements set the foundation for deliberations on enhanced industrial collaboration, advanced technological partnerships, and new employment opportunities across industries and sectors, in the North East region.

The event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including:

  • Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of Development of North-East Region (DoNER)
  • H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to India
  • Shri Bimal Borah, Hon’ble Minister, Industries, Commerce & PE, Government of Assam
  • Shri Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North-East Region (DoNER)
  • Shri (Dr.) J.B Ekka, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Commerce & PE, Government of Assam
