IFCCI in association with S&R Associates, organised a webinar on Data Protection: Compliance in Action

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in association with S&R Associates, organised a webinar on "Data Protection: Compliance in Action" on 9th July 2026.

The webinar featured expert insights from Ms. Rachael Israel – Partner, S&R Associates; Ms. Reshma Vaidya Gupte – Counsel, S&R Associates; and Mr. Deborshi Barat – Head of Public Policy, S&R Associates, who discussed the practical implementation of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA). 

The session examined the applicability of the DPDPA, the roles and responsibilities of Data Fiduciaries & Data Processors, and the steps organisations should take to strengthen compliance. The speakers also highlighted key differences between the DPDPA and GDPR, alongside practical considerations relating to consent, vendor management, cross-border data transfers, data principal rights, breach reporting, children's data, cookies and AI-enabled processing.
