The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), in association with Dezan Shira & Associates, organised an insightful webinar on 2 September 2026 on: “Navigating India’s BIS Compliance Landscape: Certification, Grey Zones and How to Navigate – A Practical Roadmap for French Businesses.”

The session brought together industry expertise and practical perspectives to help French businesses better understand India’s evolving Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) framework, certification requirements and key compliance considerations.

Ms. Rishika Roy, Deputy Director – North, IFCCI, opened the session, highlighting the importance of understanding India’s evolving product-quality and regulatory landscape for French companies operating and expanding in India.

Mr. Umair Haque, International Business Advisor, Dezan Shira & Associates, introduced the session and speakers, setting the context for the discussion.

The session featured an in-depth presentation by Mr. Ankur Munjal, Country Director, and Ms. Naina Bhardwaj, Associate Director – International Business Advisory, Dezan Shira & Associates, India. They provided practical insights into the BIS certification process, recent developments, regulatory grey areas and compliance challenges, along with a practical roadmap for businesses navigating product-quality requirements in India.

The discussion, moderated by Mr. Akshay Thakur, Deputy Manager – Events & Membership, IFCCI, also addressed questions from participants, offering greater clarity on some of the key regulatory challenges faced by international businesses.
