Team Europe in Assam: Strengthening Europe-North East India Business Ties

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) was pleased to participate in the Team Europe Delegation Visit to Assam on 8–9 June 2026.

𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐦: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞–𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐬

The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) was pleased to participate in the Team Europe Delegation Visit to Assam on 8–9 June 2026, led by H.E. Hervé Delphin, Ambassador of the European Union to India and Bhutan, and coordinated by the Federation of European Business in India (FEBI).

Representing IFCCI, Mr. Priyank Prakash joined European institutions, business organisations, industry leaders and government stakeholders to explore opportunities for stronger economic cooperation between Europe and India's North-East region.

The 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐮𝐰𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐢 was among the major milestones of the visit. 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐘𝐔𝐒𝐇, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚.

During the launch programme, 𝐈𝐅𝐂𝐂𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, “𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐦 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟓: 𝐀 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲,” bringing together government and industry leaders for a discussion on Assam's development trajectory and the role of innovation and sustainability in shaping its future.

The programme also included a roundtable interaction with Hon'ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Government  Of Assam , India, providing an opportunity for IFCCI to share perspectives from French companies operating in India and engage directly on opportunities for investment, industrial partnerships and long-term economic cooperation in Assam.

The delegation also engaged in discussions with the Government of Assam on investment promotion, technology partnerships, skills development and industrial cooperation.

The visit included a tour of Tata Group Semiconductor Assembly and Test Pvt. Ltd. (TSAT) in Jagiroad, highlighting Assam's establishment as a destination for advanced manufacturing and technology.
