IFCCI x Solomon & Co | Webinar on Navigating India-Related Commercial Disputes | 6th Oct 2026
IFCCI in association with Solomon & Co hosted a webinar on Navigating India-Related Commercial Disputes on 6th Oct 2026.
Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with Solomon & Co., conducted an engaging webinar on “Navigating India-Related Commercial Disputes: Roadmap to Protect Value and Safeguard Interests.”
The session opened with a warm welcome from Mr. Nakul Dalwala, Manager Events & Membership IFCCI Pune, followed by expert insights from Ms. Michelle Solomon Le Page, Partner, Solomon & Co. and Mr.Agastya Sreenivasan, Senior Associate, at Solomon & Co.
Using an engaging nautical theme, the speakers guided participants through the lifecycle of a commercial dispute, highlighting how early preparation and informed contractual decisions can help businesses protect their interests.
- ⚓ The Ship Leaves the Dock: Participants explored key considerations at the contract stage, including governing law, choice of arbitration or courts, dispute resolution clauses and matters that may not be arbitrable in India.
- 🌊 The Calm Before the Storm: The discussion then focused on managing emerging disputes, including limitation periods, contractual notices, force majeure, document preservation and steps to safeguard one’s position.
- ⛈️ The Storm: The final segment covered active disputes, including forum selection, interim relief, case preparation and the enforcement of arbitration awards and court judgments across borders.
The webinar was highly interactive, with live polls based on practical scenarios such as whether Indian companies can choose a foreign seat of arbitration, how settlement discussions affect limitation periods, and the enforcement of French court judgments in India. These real-world questions encouraged participants to engage with the legal issues before hearing the speakers’ analysis.
The session concluded with an open Q&A, allowing participants to further explore the topics discussed.
IFCCI sincerely thanks Michelle Solomon Le Page, Agastya Sreenivasan and Solomon & Co. for their valuable insights, and all participants for their active engagement.
