The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI) Food & Agri Committee convened its first committee meeting of the year on 10th August 2026, bringing together senior stakeholders from the food & beverage, agriculture and allied sectors to shape the Committee’s priorities and agenda for the year ahead.

Ms. Shweta Pahuja, Regional Director (Western Region), IFCCI, welcomed members and formally introduced the new Committee leadership: Chairperson: Ms. Elisabeth Faure, Representative and Country Chair, UN World Food Programme and Vice-Chairperson: Mr. Jean-Marc Leclercq, CEO, Soufflet Malt India

In her opening remarks, Ms. Elisabeth Faure highlighted the value of the IFCCI platform in strengthening public-private dialogue, policy engagement, and cross-sector collaboration across India's food and agriculture ecosystem.

The open-house discussion, moderated by Ms. Aarushi Gautam, surfaced several priorities set to shape the Committee's agenda for the year ahead:

  • Regulatory engagement - deeper dialogue with government authorities to address compliance bottlenecks, customs-related inefficiencies, and import challenges facing the sector
  • Policy advocacy - exploring a White Paper on Food & Nutrition Security
  • Supply chain innovation - tackling cold-chain inefficiencies through technology and data, with a focus on reducing food loss and waste
  • Public-private partnerships - strengthening ties between industry and the development sector through CSR-led initiatives
  • Industry exposure - facilitating site visits across member operations

Setting the direction ahead, Mr. Jean-Marc Leclercq emphasised the need for action-oriented initiatives and focused policy engagement, delivering tangible value for members while building a more efficient food and agriculture ecosystem in India.

The Committee looks forward to translating these priorities into meaningful initiatives and strengthening the India–France business dialogue across the food and agriculture value chain.
